Hi Leeanne, I have no experience with swimmer started blocks sorry but I can saw that the adhesive is strong when put onto a clean dry surface and it lasts well on a dinghy where it takes some punishment from feet, bums moving around on it plus water. As an anti slip the foam is also kind on skin (not abrasive). Regards David
