Description

The Sea Sure jib furler is designed for complete reliability. The drum is completely enclosed to prevent rope from coming off and jamming during operation. It also features an all stainless steel thrust bearing so that it still operates easily when the forestay is fully tensioned. Being less than 50mm between centres allows the jib to be set very low to the deck for maximum sail efficiency. It can also be mounted below the deck using an additional stainless steel extension tube. The furler will take up to 3.5m of 3mm line allowing it to be used on sails with a foot length of approximately 3m. (this is reduced if larger diameter line is used). The opening of the drum is on the starboard side so be careful to set it up correctly (picture is a little misleading!).
Weight: 116gms (25-54)

Hi, I haven't tried the jib furler on a Mirror dinghy but I can't see any reason why it wouldn't workRegardsDavid

Hi RobI am sure it will fit an Ent. You may need to have a little think about where the furling line comes back to as you will have to get it over the combing (wave deflector on deck in front of mast). Maybe bring the line to the side, drill a hole through it or fit a fairlead on the top of it?RegardsDavid

Hi, a top swivel is essential or the genoa wire will twist and get damaged and the top half will not furl properly

Yes it will work on a Fireball Regards David

Hi Colin I'm not sure this system will work on a Mirror, the Mirror is rigged differently to boats like the Wayfarer that this system is designed for I'm sure people have done this and they are happy with the results but I can not recommend it as I don't believe it will be 100% and I haven't tried it. The system is supplied with a furling drum and line, a top swivel, a fairlead to guide the furling line and fixings. The jib hanks are normally screwed on to the jib. I hope that is of use David

Hi Jamie It will work with a jib or genoa. You say 'old GP14' and I can't think what age my have to do with it working or not. It will work best when your rig tension is put through the wire luff of the foresail I hope that helps Regards David

Hi Paul Yes I would of thought so, as long as the rig tension goes through the jib halyard I can't think of a reason why it wouldn't work Regards David

Hi Robert The Dinghy jib furler has a fork fitting so the jib will attach using the pin and no need for a shackle. The part that fits to the boat also has a fork fitting so it fits different bow fittings. I have changed the main image of the product which has the unit the correct way up Regards David
