Which Boat Cover For You and Your Boat

Which boat cover design and fabric type is best for you and your dinghy?

Choose Your Fabric

The Benefits of a Breathable Boat Cover:

A breathable boat cover will reduce the damp environment inside the boat, which over a period of time could lead to the wood or GRP absorbing water and putting weight onto the boat. On wooden boats a damp interior can also shorten the life of the varnish.

Non Breathable PVC Coated Polyester

High quality, hard wearing, non shrinking, blue PVC Coated Polyester is our standard Boat Cover fabric.
It is 360gms(12oz)/sqm for up to 12ft dinghies, and 450gms(16oz)/sqm for bigger dinghies (normally).

The fabric is:

  • Waterproof
  • Pliable
  • Easy to Handle
  • UV Stabisised
  • Chemically treated to withstand fungus and rotting from bird droppings

HydroGuard

HydroGuard polyester has been designed specifically as a Marine Grade fabric for covers. Unlike other alternatives on the market, it boasts a lighter, stronger, more flexible nature. Whilst not compromising on important waterproof and UV resistant qualities it sustains durability and toughness. The fabric has undergone various treatments making this a particularly ideal fabric for protecting your dinghy, boat, or sails from the elements, environment and prying eyes!

Best of all HydroGuard is breathable allowing vapour to escape from the inside reducing dampness, heat build up and condensation.

The fabric features:

  • Breathability and waterproofness - It provides the right combination to keep rain water out, yet allow trapped water vapour to escape, protecting your boat from damp, condensation and mildew.
  • Durable Water Repellent (DWR) finish to keep your boat dry in the toughest of conditions.
  • Anti-UV treatment - to help protect against UV radiation, and can be used in even the hottest of climates.
  • Anti-Mildew treatment - ensuring both cover and boat are protected from mildew weathering.
  • Tensile strength and abrasion resistance - especially important if trailing as the covers need to withstand the rigors of the road.
  • Shape Retention - If it stretches, due to pooling on the cover, it will recover with no unsightly sagging, providing a very stable cover.
  • Lightweight - making it easy for handling and transportation.
  • Solution dyed - the colour is added to the yarn as it is produced, locking the colours in the yarn. This gives an excellent colour fastness compared to piece dyed yarns or other standard fabrics on the market.

Choose Your Cover Design

Our cover designs are individually tailored to each class of boat and have features incorporated to provide the best possible protection.

Your boat is liable to sit on shore for more time than it is actually used and it's care and storage should be of great importance. A snug fitting, well secured boat cover will:

  • Protect your boat from the UV light, rain, etc.
  • Keep other matter out, such as leaves, sand, bird droppings etc.
  • Pollutants in the atmosphere.
  • and prying eyes.

Remember to fit your cover securely, adjusting straps etc as any flapping will cause damage to your boat and the Cover.
