Hempel Primer Undercoat Mid Grey 750ml

Hempel's Primer Undercoat in Grey for use with darker top coats is a single component primer for all substrates (including steel) above the waterline, and an undercoat for Brilliant Gloss/Multicoat/Non slip Deck Coating. A quick-drying, high-opacity primer and undercoat, that gives excellent durability and surface stability ready for overcoating with single component topcoats.

Surface Preparation: Always ensure all surfaces are clean, oil free and dry. Clean the surface and remove possible oil and grease with a suitable detergent and sand with dry abrasive paper. Carefully remove dust with fresh water. Uncoated surface: Glass fibre: Sand and remove all dust.New wood: Sand and remove all dust. Saturate the dry, clean surface with suitable wood treatment, allow to dry. Steel: Remove salt and other contaminants by (high pressure) fresh water cleaning. Remove all rust and loose material by abrasive blasting or power tool cleaning. Dust off residues. Previously coated surface: Abrade, clean and dry the surface.

Product Application: Stir product well before use..
Method: Touch up bare spots to full film thickness.
Previously coated surface: Apply two coats of the product.
Wood: Apply first coat of the product thinned with specified HEMPEL'S THINNER: max. 10%. Finally apply 2 coats of the product.
Glass fibre/Steel: Apply two coats of the product. Add thinner to assist application if necessary: max. 5%.. To obtain a smooth surface, sanding between coats is recommended (remove dust).
Overcoat with chosen topcoat.

Application Conditions: The surface must be completely clean and dry at the time of application and its temperature must be above the dew point to avoid condensation. The moisture content in the wood should not exceed: 16%. Do not apply in direct sunlight. In confined spaces provide adequate ventilation during application and drying.
