Combi Trailers - What you need to know

Combi Trailers

Aptly named, this is a Combination of a trolley and road base and sometimes referred to as a piggy back trailer. The trolley will cradle the boat and go in and out of the water and a road base stays dry helping to keep the bearings protected and in turn reliable on the road.

There are options in creating your Combi trailer which is why they may not be listed as a part First you need to find the trolley that best fits your boat, we have specific trolleys for the more popular classes and for boats that have specific requirements, for most other dinghies they will either fit one of our standard trolleys or for boats with rounded hulls we have webbing slung trolley which help distribute the support required.

As sailing dinghies share similar properties our trolleys are sized by length of boat however they fit all sorts of boats, you may just need to spend a little time finding the right one and see Our article on ‘Choosing a Trolley or Trailer’

Vario 1D, 2, 3 & Multi stacking trailers  – Are fitted with 10 inch wheels which will feel smoother on the road and as they go round less they should be more reliable for those doing large mileage. That said there is nothing wrong with 8 inch wheels for long distance and they are lighter weight
