Launching Trousers

These trousers are great. I get too hot in a full dry suit, and as a keel boat sailer, need the ability to go deep to launch.... These are great!

Launching Trousers

Great trousers, so much easier than a dry suit in a keel boat.

Launching Trousers

Fantastic dry trousers, just what I needed for launching and recovering a RIB from a trailer. The dry socks mean I can wear any shoes, which I choose wetsuit boots for extra warmth. The chest pocket is useful but not particularly accessible under a life jacket. No complaints, just what I wanted.

FABRIC TECHNOLOGY

Constructed with the innovative 3x layer RTX400™. This specialised fabric it is lightweight, robust, breathable and easy to wear without a bulky feel. With over 10 years of Fabric testing it comes out on top every time with complete water & windproof protection.

  • ▪️ The Outer Layer is a durable, abrasion resistant nylon which is treated with DWR (Durable Water Repellency).

  • ▪️ The Midlayer is a microporous PU membrane which transfers vapour molecules from the inner layer to outer layer.

  • ▪️ The Inner Knitted scrim layer is a soft nylon which is high wicking and has “easy slip” properties, sliding over the garments that are worn under the Drysuits ie. no snagging or dragging over knees etc. when you are moving around

Customer Questions
Hi John I doubt the SB will fit however it depends on your body shape I would advise a MB however you could order both suits and return the one that doesn't fit Regards David
Hi Heather It sure is possible, here is the link to the part https://www.tridentuk.com/gb/trident-custom-made-dry-launching-trousers.html Regards David
Hi Derek You can just order 3D socks at the size that suits you https://www.tridentuk.com/gb/drysuit-3d-sock-seal-repair-kit.html Regards David
Hi Sandra Yes the feet are fitted and part of the suit and they are sized as the suit is (small, medium, large) and the sock generally span a good size range in those areas How that works is the instep of the sock is forward so you put the sock on with your toes to the front and any loose pulls up your heel and around your ankle Hope that helps David
Hi Monica, Yes it is possible to replace the latex socks, see the below link. https://www.tridentuk.com/gb/kbase/do-you-repair-drysuits.html I will say that latex socks rarely seap water and any dampness is more likely condensation or a leak in the ankle Return the suit stating what is happening and we will advise Regards David
Hi James Yes they have latex socks so is like a drysuit up to the chest. We'd recommend wearing a zipped dinghy boot a size bigger than normal over the sock Regards David
Hi David You could order a custom set and have ankle seals fitted and cut them to suit how tight you want them https://www.tridentuk.com/gb/trident-custom-made-dry-launching-trousers.html Regards David
Hi Gary You will have to go XXL for the width which depending on whether you are proportioned long or short in the leg, may or may not be too long in the leg You could try and if that didn't work go for a made to measure, only £40 extra Regards David
Hi Rob I am guessing she is slim and a medium may well fit although I'd expect it may be a bit short in the leg. You could order both sizes and return what you don't want Regards David
Hi Cameron At 6'1" I would suggest the XL unless you are very short in the leg then the Large my well fit. These are great for use launching boats as well as sailing in, they have a draw string around the chest which will limit the amount of water that would enter if you were in the water, I also hear that even when submerged that the water pressure pushes the suit against your skin which limits the amount of water that would enter inside. So yes you will get water in the suit and I think it will be more of a discomfort than a problem of it filling up I hope that helps Regards David
Hi Fiona We would recommend you returning them to us and we can test and repair as required Link to repair page and info https://www.tridentuk.com/gb/kbase/do-you-repair-drysuits.html Regards David
Hi William From what you tell me the SB will be perfect Regards David
Hi Ben As the material doesn't stretch there needs to be some loose material to enable movement. The size guide is for skin measurements not the measurements of the item. We would advise fleece and or base layers underneath as we know the materials aren't abrasive on the inside of the launchers, these fabrics are also breathable so you will feel dry, stay warmer longer and be more comfortable. You are welcome to try an XXL but I expect it will feel wide on you so yes you are probably a made to measure Regards David
Hi Alastair Somewhere there is a youtube video of someone testing this but I can't find it now. The answer is no it shouldn't pull you under but it will let water in and then could make getting back onboard difficult. Even if they were full of water, the water in the trousers is the same density as the water outside the trousers so there is no weight difference to pull you anywhere. What I remember from the video is that the water pressure presses the suit to your body and together with the draw string it prevents the trousers from quickly filling up and if you are quick you can get away without taking much water in, just have a some dampness and a puddle somewhere inside. Regards David
Hi Chris The latex socks are sized S, M, L in line with the suit sizes and the socks are designed so your toe goes to the front and any spare material is taken up around your ankle and with zipped dinghy boots this extra material is kept out the way. Ankle seals are waterproof but you then need to think how you will keep your feet warm Regards David
