ILCA carbon upper mast is the same top section used on the 4, 6 and 7 rigs and is compatible with all Lasers 4.7, radial and standard rigs
The carbon top section is more robust than the alloy as it's not damage from a permanent bend, it's build carachteristics are more uniform than alloy and there are arguments that it's performance in gust responce is improved over alloy
