Low friction deck collar which fixes to the deck of the Optimist dinghy to prevent wear to the glassfibre deck together with low friction mast sleeve to prevent wear to the mast. These collars do wear with use and need replacing periodically to keep within tolerance. It has an oval inner diameter allowing for maximum fore/aft play and minimum side play and a tapered inner diameter allows the mast to be raked.
- Fixes to deck with 4 countersunk mounting holes.
- Hole size in deck : Ø 57 mm
Note. This grey collar does need to work together with a mast sleeve. When replacing the sleeve it's easiest to put the sleeve in a cup of hot water for a short time to heat and expand the sleeve to so it fits on the mast. It's also possible to use a hair dryer or paint stripper (be careful it doesn't get too hot) these are also useful if the sleeve cools in the wrong place.
Fit to the mast so the centre of the collar is 215mm from the base of the mast or mark the mast before so the sleeve is just higher than the collar on the thwart.
