Hi Jan To reef the main you will need to add eyelets across the sail and another outhaul on the back of the boom Class rules will have prevented modifications to the rig however it has a high boom so if you want to shorten the mast it probably won't effect much, that said it is quite an under canvassed boat so see how you go at first as you may be worrying unduly Regards David
