FABRIC

RTX400H

  • The Outer Layer is a durable, abrasion resistant nylon which is treated with DWR (Durable Water Repellency).
  • The Midlayer is a microporous PU membrane which transfers vapour molecules from the inner layer to outer layer.
  • The Inner Knitted scrim layer is a soft nylon which is high wicking and has “easy slip” properties, sliding over the garments that are worn under the Drysuits ie. no snagging or dragging over knees etc. when you are moving around.

I am looking for the right size for my 11 year old daughter who is 141cms tall and about 83cms chest. Should I go for something longer but with more room on the chest? It's for kayaking so arm movement is important! I'm worried that if I go smaller on the chest it will restrict movement.

    1. David Shilling answers 8 May 2019

      Hi Christine
In my experience and from the information you have given me I would try the Junior Large as I think some of the extra length of the suit will be taken up in the width required and should fit very well with some growing room
      Regards
      David

  2. Andrew jones asks 10 Nov 2017

Looking at a dry suit for my 9 year old son. He's 4' 9" tall and has a chest size of 27".

He's growing so fast that I'm concerned that while he's in a JM just, he'll be too tall in a matter of a few months.

How would he get on with a JL do you think?

    Thanks

    1. David Shilling answers 11 Oct 2017

      Hi Andrew
A Junior Large would be ideal as he is right at the bottom of it's size guide so there is room to grow. The problems with buying a suit to grow into is when you go for the next size up (a JXL in this case) and then it will be so big it won't be comfortable to wear and you will find you get problems with the suit very quickly
      I hope that helps
      David

Hi I was wondering about size of neck and wrist seals Orbit Junior drysuit Its for tall but skinny 8 year old was thinking of junior medium.
    Regards,
    John

    1. David Shilling answers 23 Jan 2017

      Hi John
The junior small and junior medium both have the same seals on them.
If you give me their height and max width (chest or waist) I'll see if I can help any further with choice of suit size
      Regards

  6. Claire asks 1 Jan 1970

What is the weight of this drysuit?
    Kind regards

    1. David Shilling answers 26 Apr 2017

      Hi Claire
Do you mean the weight of the fabric or the total weight of the suit?
We have a generic shipping weight of 1.3Kg for the junior suits but this will be rounded up and probably taken from the XL junior so the smaller sizes will be lighter
As to the fabric weight I believe it's 4 oz but this doesn't give much of an idea or the feel of the fabric which is light in weight but feels thicker as it's a laminated material
      I hope that helps

  8. Bob asks 1 Jan 1970

Are here boot like a diving dry suit or
Do you need shoes over the top

    1. David Shilling answers 29 Aug 2017

      Hi Bob
They are latex socks so will need a boot over the top and I'd also say to wear a sock underneath them to keep the latex off your skin which is more comfortable but you will need boots a size bigger than you normally take
      Regards
      David
